My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Snooki,

a delightful 6-year-old pitbull mix with a heart as big as her personality! This social butterfly is the ultimate friend to everyone she meets, effortlessly winning hearts with her wagging tail and warm demeanor. Snooki thrives on spending quality time with her family, whether it's cozying up for a movie night or embarking on exciting adventures.

She's adaptable and would be perfectly content as the only dog in the household, but she's also open to sharing her home with a calm canine companion. Snooki has a gentle disposition and gets along wonderfully with kids of all ages, making her an ideal family pet. With her loving nature and playful spirit, Snooki is ready to bring joy and companionship to her forever home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
