Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Marlee is a 1 year & 2 month old deaf heeler, she is UTD on shots, fixed, & on monthly preventatives. She is energetic and very friendly. She knows no stranger loves everyone & everything. She currently lives with cats & 2 other dogs. She leaves the cats alone she just occasionally will walk up to them and say hi then go about her business. She is crate and potty trained.
She has slight resource guarding towards other dogs with food & food toys, but plays well with regular toys with dogs. She does not resource guard from her humans just dogs with food so she gets fed in her cage & eats from her slow feeder.
She loves water & car rides, she enjoys meeting new dogs but is submissive and timid when she first meets them so it takes her a bit to warm up. But after she gets to know them she runs with the pack. She is deaf but has learned many hand signs & keeps learning more. She had separation anxiety in the beginning, she now does well in her crate when left alone but may regress when she goes to her new home, with time, love, & patience she will get better. She is much better once she learns your routine, so the quicker you get her into a routine the better. She is a great dog looking for her furever home.
* Friendly, tolerable dog (A dog is preferred as she is really social)
* a big fenced in yard
* Someone with heeler experience (and deaf dog experience is a bonus!)
* Dog savy children (she still likes to jump on smaller children)
* Someone who either works from home or has a lot of time to work with her as she settles into her new home
If you think that Marlee is a great fit for your family, please fill out the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. All adoptio fees are used for future rescue efforts.
