"Mama Mouse", "Mouse", or "MM", is one very special kitty. Not JUST because she's gorgeous, but because she has a history with us that is remarkable! Mouse was transferred to us from really-not-fantastic over-crowded living situation in South Dakota, through a wonderful rescue we partner with. Mama Mouse had 3 tiny kittens that she was trying to keep nourished, although her milk had long dried up and she herself weighed barely 5lbs. Mouse's smokey grey coat was coarse, matted, and had zero shine to it - but her green eyes still shined bright and she without fail, would turn on her purring motor for all human hands that came towards her. She was a great mama - selfless, attentive, and completely devoted to her little ones, despite her own struggling body and stomach.
Fast forward past weeks of many vet visits, probiotics, antibiotics, consistent quality nutrition, and today we have a sleek, energetic, curious, and gentle girl who is experiencing the JOY of life as a spayed kitty! Mouse LOVES to play - both with her foster siblings and on her own. She races through rooms, loves every human she meets, and may have a *tiny* obsession with catnip. Everyone who meets MM falls in love with her. She's the perfect cuddle companion, sunbather, and work-from-home companion. Mouse loves a good nap to lap in, and a quality window to watch the world though.
Mouse is currently fostered with 2 other cats and a dog - she's not afraid to give the dog a swat if he gets in her face, but mostly she ignores him. A young gal herself (estimated just around year old), Mama Mouse plays well with the younger cat in the house, but does insist on being the boss. We believe she would do equally well in a home with another playful young male cat, as she would in a home with no other cats as long as her people are home often.
MM is a long and lanky girl who is still working on putting on weight after her rough start in life. Given the proper nutrition there's the chance this gal might get bigger... all the more to love though, right?
