Boris Chief is a lovable goof who is committed to living life to the fullest!

This boy has a huge personality and has been known to be stubborn and persistent, so he needs an experienced owner who will be a strong leader and ready to love Boris as much as he loves them.

Boris Chief is eager to please and very smart so his ideal home gives him the structure, consistency, and routine he needs to be his happiest and most balanced self.

Ask Boris Chief about his perfect day and he’ll tell you all about how he loves to play a good game of fetch in the yard, relax outside with his favorite ball, and  spend time curled up on his bed napping or snuggling with his people.

When meeting other dogs, Boris Chief can come off very strong. Even though he just wants to play, his approach may not be appreciated by some dogs. Cats and other small animals are not a good fit for this boy as he is overly interested in them and doesn't understand that they may not want to play and be his friend. Boris Chief loves getting attention from his people and would have no issue being the sole focus of his family's attention.

Due to his teenage spunk, it will likely take Boris Chief some time to settle into his new home, so his family will need to be patient and loving with him as he learns what is expected of him. He can be a mouthy when he gets excited or wants attention, and is working on learning ways to express his excitement in a calmer manner.  When given sufficient training and playtime, Boris can be crated for a full workday, and will easily go in his crate for a treat. In a home with limited ambient noise he is very quiet in his crate, but in an active home or building with exterior noises, he can become vocal as he wants to join in on the fun and doesn't want you to forget about him.

Boris Chief is the kind of dog who loves his people with his whole heart and is ready to be the loyal best friend they’ve always dreamed of.

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
