Meet Sage! Sage is an approximately 11 month old cattle dog mix that weighs 37 pounds. Sage was a stray at rural Utah shelter and no one came to claim her. Well, we claim her! She's an awesome dog with lots of potential.
From Sage's foster mom:
Sage is a high energy dog that requires structured exercise and outlets for her energy or some form of “job” to be fulfilled to keep her out of trouble. She would love to do dog sports like agility, scent work, rally/OB, or even frisbee to keep her mind busy. She is very naturally engaged and really wants to please. If you aren’t into dog sports, she also makes a fantastic hiking companion (she’s GREAT off leash!) or running partner. She loves to play with toys and especially enjoys fetch and tug. Her overall drive level is moderate, so she’s perfect to have fun with but not enough to make you crazy as long as her exercise needs are being met. She’s super social with respectful dogs (she is not a good candidate for doggie daycare or dog parks) and could live with cats if managed. She has also done fantastic around horses, donkeys, and cattle and would thrive in a farm/ranch environment with some guidance. She is crate and house trained (won’t potty indoors) but should not be left unsupervised out of a crate as she will find ways to entertain herself. She’s also super social with people. We are not sure how she is with kids but would probably do ok with dog savvy older kids with supervision. She has a very nice temperament overall and her foster mom wishes she had the room to keep her. She is very environmentally stable, and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. Sage rides well in her crate in the car.
Sage's adoption fee is $325 and includes spay, microchip and vaccinations.
