Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP! – Linus is approximately 11-12 month old male mixed breed.
Linus, and his littermate Lucy, came to us from a kill shelter that thought they might be a Shiba mix, but DNA test results show there is no Shiba at all! He is mostly Husky, Chow, and Cattle Dog, with a bit of Lab, German Shepherd, and Boxer. Regardless of the mix, Linus is a handsome and charming fella!
When he first arrived at his foster home, Linus was a bit fearful and lacking in self confidence. However, he quickly learned to trust his foster family after only a few days and has continued to grow and learn. Although he is still skittish with strangers and needs a slow introduction to new people and environments, he has learned to trust regular visitors. We know that with time and patience, he will thrive!
Linus is a sweet, joyful boy that loves to play. He is house trained and likes to spend time in his crate. He loves to snuggle with his foster family and play with his sister Lucy. He is eagerly learning basic commands and how to walk on leash. With the right guidance (training), patience, and structure Linus will continue to blossom.
Linus was severely underfed when he came to COSIR, but the past three months in his foster home has been an incredible chance for Linus to recover from his rough start in life and he is now a healthy weight around 35 lbs. Despite his undernourishment, he has not shown any signs of food guarding or food aggression.
Lucy has already found a wonderful home, but we are looking for one for Linus. He may do well in an active home with a structured environment.
If you are interested in Linus, please fill out an application on our website. If you are already on our waitlist, please let us know you are interested by emailing: info@coloradoshibainurescue.org or call/text 720-491-1278.
Linus’ adopt free is $300. It includes: spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test/prevention, microchip, and initial training with a COSIR approved trainer.
