Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kira- Rehoming -Fit with current family not ideal for her so we are looking to rehome her.
Kira would do well in a home where she is the only dog and doesn't need to go EVERYWHERE with her people. She needs to build confidence and would do best with consistent boundaries, she is mainly fearful and can be protective but that is not a comfortable position for her.
She is a little bit of a project but well worth the work. She will need to learn to be properly introduced to new people so she knows exactly what to expect. She has been to a trainer and with the trainer she was a almost perfect dog. She needs the right dynamic and handler to thrive.
Great things:
-Sweet - will steal kisses.
-Smart.
-Happy.
-Healthy.
-Loves her people.
-Wants to please.
-Adorable wiggle.
-Adapts to change well.
-Knows obedience and general commands.
-Is trained to ring jingle bell on back door to go outside.
-Good in the car. Not a fan of it, but she is well behaved but can be reactive to other animals
-Crate trained, (crate anxiety- use heavy duty crate)
-Has been responding to citronella bark collar.
-Loves her belly rubbed. Loves pets and brushes.
-Kong toys (binkie and frisbee) and Nylabones are key. Loves tug-of-war with Kong toys.
-Loves to lay in the direct sun and in front of the fireplace. Hates the snow/being cold.
-Dog selective- needs slow intros.
Challenges:
-Some stranger danger if not introduced properly. Fearful of loud male voices.
-Leash reactive -but depends on the confidence of the handler.
-Plays hard - play style may not be appreciated.
Kira has lived in a rural community. She has not been exposed to kids or cats. She prefers women and fears most men. She adapted to our female dog walker and loved her. She adapted to our male dog trainer. (confident male handler)
