Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Winnie the German Shepherd x Doberman mix! At least those are two of her breeds listed on her DNA results! Cool stuff! But if you are looking for your own Winnie to your Piglet to go on adventures with, look no further! This lovely girl came to us as a stray but was never claimed. No matter, that didn`t stop her from becoming a well-known face around here. When Winnie first arrived, she was a little shy and hesitant around new people and would give a loud bark to let them know she was there! But with socialization and exposure to new faces, Winnie has come out of her shy shell and is ready to make some friends!
Winnie is very treat motivated and already knows sit, down, give paw, touch and is even working on roll over! Oh, did I mention, she aced the wobble board training too! She is a very smart girl who will have an easy time with training. She can be a little excited on leash and pull a bit but is doing well with her training and will even stop at doors and wait for them to be opened. With how smart she is, she will stride next to you in no time. Just have those treats handy!
Winnie`s ideal home would give her the ability to exercise frequently throughout the day whether that be in a closed backyard with some rounds of fetch, a nice long walk for her to sniff some things out or even some mental stimulation with some puzzle games!
Winnie may do well in a house with other dogs but a meet and greet would be ideal. As for kids, Winnie would probably love them but because of her size and how excited she gets, older kids may be best around her!
If you`re ready for your next adventure, please contact Toronto Animal Services West Shelter at 416-338-6271 during regular business hours. Meet and greets are being done by appointment only.
