Tanjiro is a happy-go-lucky 1-year old Husky/American Eskimo Dog mix who weighs about 32 pounds. He is a young guy with an exhuberence for life and a lot of energy! Tanjiro loves everyone he meets, but he might do best with older kids, simply because he's still learning that mouthy play isn't always appreciated. He has met kids of all ages and did well with them, but it is important to keep his rough play style in mind. A toy used for redirection is helpful. He gently jumps on people to say hello, but listens well when directed to put his paws back on the ground.
One of his favorite activities is chasing his canine foster sibling around the house or yard. He really enjoys having a dog companion and would benefit from having a playmate in his future home. Tanjiro also coexists well with the cats in his foster home - though he will chase them a bit if they run.
His foster reports that they are still trying to figure out the potty routine. Tanjiro isn't the best at signaling, but if taken out on a regular basis, he does well. He is very smart and hopefully, will pick up on a new routine quickly. Tanjiro knows "sit," "lay down," and "paw." His foster thinks he'd enjoy and benefit from puzzle toys to keep his mind active. A fenced yard would be ideal since he loves to run around the yard. He tolerates his crate, but he will bark in it. His foster allows him to be loose in the house at night.
