Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**ARROW HAS BEEN ADOPTED! ** Do you love the look of Dobermans but feel they might be too large for you, and Min Pins are just a bit too small? If so, sweet and spirited little Arrow might be your pup! Pal's Place rescued Arrow and his four littermates from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. Arrow's littermates were all adopted over the past week, and now it's his turn to find his forever family. Arrow is estimated to be around 4 months old (as of 4/11) and weighs 10 pounds. Given his current size and weight, we anticipate an adult weight of 25-30 pounds, a great medium-sized pooch! The animal control facility Arrow and his littermates were rescued from listed them as Doberman mixes, most likely because of their color/markings. Given his small frame and stature, and confident, curious, fun-loving, and larger-than-life personality, we suspect more Minature Pinscher in his family tree than any other breed. However, both of Arrow's parents were probably mixed breeds, making it likely he is a perfect combination of many breeds.
Arrow is an absolute hoot, and never a dull moment with this guy! He is an extroverted, lively pup with a fun-loving, adventurous attitude. He will mature into
a high-energy, intelligent adult dog who will thrive in an active household that can commit to keeping his mind and body active and engaged. He loves meeting new people and playing with other dogs. Arrow also enjoys zoomies in the yard, chewing on Nylabones and Kongs, and cuddling on the couch after an action-packed day. He is working on his housebreaking and crate training and is doing very well with both when kept on a regular schedule. He is ready and anxious to meet his new family!
Puppies are adorable and fun but require a tremendous amount of time, patience, and energy during their first year or so.
Dogs this age and size need potty breaks every 2-3 hours, along with lots and lots of playtime and attention throughout the day. Puppies do best in homes where someone is home more often than not and with families prepared to take on socialization, crate training, housebreaking, and basic obedience training. Please consider if you truly have time for a puppy and consult with all family members in the home before applying.
Arrow is neutered, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee to the rescue is $475. He is being fostered on Chicago's north side and can be seen by appointment after an adoption application has been submitted and approved by the rescue. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason once they are available for adoption. Please be prepared to meet and welcome a new family member into your home within 3 days of applying. For more information or an adoption application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit http://palsplacerescue.org/adopt/. We do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. If you expect a response from us, please check your spam/junk folders regularly, as our correspondence can sometimes end up in those folders.
