So, one may ask, how did a cat rescue end up with a puppy? By a strange twist of fate which has worked out in more ways than imagined. Coffeecake's mom was hit and killed by a car. No dog rescue locally would take the bottle baby puppy, so our foster home of intrepid bottle baby kitten experts agreed to take her on, hoping a dog rescue would step up later. Our plan was to keep her alive and figure out transfer later.
Fate had something different in mind. One of our teen-aged foster kittens still in this foster home, Jollie, decided Coffeecake was her baby. She grooms her, sleeps with her, moves her, and cares for her like she was her own. The pup thinks Jollie is her mom and is deeply bonded to her. They should not ever be separated, so we will be pre-adopting these two as a bonded pair.
If you have ever wanted to raise a puppy and kitten together in your home, this is the perfect arrangement. They already love each other.
Coffeecake will start her puppy shots in two weeks and be spayed at 4 months of age. If you want these two to be yours please contact us about setting up a pre-adopt arrangement. They are truly sweet together.
