My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Life hasn't been easy for our lovely, shy Blanca, who was basically abandoned at the refuge by a woman who threatened to dump Blanca and several other cats by the roadside if Goathouse would not take them. One look at that beautiful, frightened little face and we just could not think of turning Blanca away! Blanca is still adjusting to life at the refuge, and while she still shies away from people initially, she seems more afraid than anything, and who can blame her, after all she's been through? Blanca would love to find a calm, quiet home, ideally with a caretaker who is well-versed in reading cat body language and nonverbal cues and committed to working with Blanca on socialization, taking things 100% at Blanca's pace. If you think you might be a good fit for Blanca, please complete our online adoption application and come meet her in person soon!

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
