My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HELLO! My name is Bruin! I am a 1 year old super handsome guy. I consider myself a freebird adult with a job but my Foster Mom says, I’m “just a baby!” I am looking for my forever family; one who can love me and cuddle me as much as I cuddle them. Personally, I’d do better in an environment with lots of family around all the time and/or with a sibling. I tend not to do too well alone but can you blame me? I’m a really social guy. I’m the life of the party! I love people and other cats and having fun and good times. However, since I was chased from my former home by a dog, I tend to stay away from them. So no dogs please! I am a very active cat. Especially while on the nip. I like to hunt and chase my toys and my human just as much as I like to take my daily naps as near as I can to my foster brother. He’s still getting the feel of me. But I play well with others! Ping pong balls are my FAVORITE and oh! I love my cat tunnel. With feathers. And ping pong balls. But I also love birds. All the birds. And squirrels. You Tube has the best videos for me. I watch them daily. I also love the ‘Narcos’ intro. Those latin vibes are my vibes. My FMom and I dance everyday. She gives me lots of kisses. I also like to climb, trot across from above and survey my land when possible. I’ve watched The Lion King! This apartment is MINE! You got to keep abreast of all that goes on in your house. It’s just being responsible. This scales from watching my mom while she washes the dishes to surveying daily meals and test tasting them despite FMom’s protests (what if they were corrupted?) to relaxing on a high shelf while she takes a shower to maintain her safety. And hold hands. It’s part of the job but let’s be honest; I love me a free steam bath! But seriously, I keep tabs on everything as many mini alphas do; from what groceries come in, to making sure you’re doing your home project right, to making sure I get my God given right to attention, to making sure my litter box is in the upmost pristine condition daily ( This is VERY important!)!!! I also make sure you take me on my daily walks, but safety first! I must be on my leash. And in enclosed areas. I’m not and not sure I’ll be ready for public walking but perhaps you can convince me with the right training? As my new possible parent, I don’t ask for much. Just a warm place to sleep (on you preferably), a family who will love me (lots of pets and play! Don’t forget the treats for my good behavior) with lots of things to chase (feathers! But please no lasers. They make me sad) and places to climb/lounge (higher the better!) with a loving feline companion where we can run around together as best friends (just make sure to acclimate us correctly to further our chances of being BFF’s). In return, I’ll smother you with love around your head and neck promptly starting at 6.30am not only so you can feel my gratitude and affection. But it's also so you can feed me on time. I’ll be a good sibling to both human and animal, provide you with plenty of favorable moments (My foster mom says I am a goofball who needs to be bubble wrapped. Lol!) and I promise to always let you know when the litter box needs to be cleaned. Because, you know, it’s my job! So if you want me, Bruin as part of your pack, be sure to let ‘The Cat’s Meow’ know so we can meet. Can’t wait to see you soon!

Much Mews,

Bruin

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Here is our Adoption Process:

1. Submit an adoption application at www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org

2. If you have not yet met the cat(s) you wish to adopt, come to an adoption event or schedule a foster home visit to meet the cat(s). Please note that we cannot schedule any private foster home visits until you submit an application.

3. If your application is approved, we will contact you within a week to schedule a home visit. One of our experienced volunteers will stop by your home to ensure that you are able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the cat. We may also provide tips for integrating the cat into your home environment.

4. We ask for a minimum tax-deductible donation* of $225.00 for each cat you adopt from us. Donations may be made online (via a secure PayPal transaction) or in-person via cash or check. If you are adopting a pair of kitties, the donation is $200.00 each ($400.00 total).

*Additional donations are highly encouraged, as they enable us to rescue another cat from the shelter or the streets. Because our organization is a non-profit run entirely by volunteers, we rely solely on donations to continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned and neglected cats.

5. We will have you sign an Adoption Agreement detailing the terms of the adoption at the time you collect your new kitty. You may view a copy of it on our website.

6. That’s it! You will communicate with the cat’s foster parents to coordinate pick-up. Please always transport your cat in a carrier for safety.

7. We will email or mail you a copy of your Adoption Agreement, a letter confirming your donation, and medical records and microchip information. This usually takes about 2 weeks.

In addition to receiving individualized medical care, we provide the following services to our cats: spay/neuter, microchip, testing for FELV/FIV, flea and dewormer treatments, and vaccinations.
