Stormy Hi all, Stormy here! Don't let the name fool you; I'm neither gloomy nor unpredictable. I am 100% friendly and affectionate, and I like to talk--a lot! I am a 10-year-old brown and black Tabby girl who had good reasons for being sad. I lived with my owner since I was a kitten, but when I was nearly 8, my owner moved to another country. I had a tumultuous year after that, going from place to place and becoming more stressed. Additionally, I was declawed when I was young and topped the scale at 21.5 pounds, both of which caused me pain. [A soft, fine-grained litter can be easier on my sore tootsies.] Luckily, I met my foster mom, who truly understands cats. She helped me overcome my fearful behavior when feeling threatened. Now, I love to be petted and cuddle close. She has also helped me reduce my weight to 15.5 pounds with my new diet. Sadly, we found out I was diabetic. I thought my life was over, but it's not! My foster mom makes sure my diabetes stays under control. I get my blood sugar checked and take my insulin like a champ! Now that my diabetes is under control, I would love to find my forever home. My dream is a quiet home where my new owner gives me plenty of time to settle in and feel comfortable. 2-22-24

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
