Remus was rescued by SSR from a shelter in San Antonio. He had been found and turned into the shelter where they scanned him for a microchip and found him to be owned by someone. When the shelter called the registered owners, they said they no longer wanted him and that he could stay at the shelter.
Remus arrived to Virginia in February 2023 and has been living at a boarding facility with no foster available to take him in. A lovely volunteer took Remus out of boarding for the day and brought him to an adoption event to see how he did in the real world. To no surprise, Remus was a charming gentleman. He was friendly to all humans, big and small, and had no problem interacting with the other dogs at the event. He remained calm, cool, and collected the entire time even with people and dogs walking by him and constantly interacting. He was affectionate to all that wanted to pet him and welcomed them with open paws.
The only unknown for us at this time is how Remus is with cats as we have not seen him interact with a feline friend yet. We anticipate that Remus would be a lovely addition to any family, as all he wants is someone to love him and a warm place to sleep at night. Although he is considered a senior dog, he is still spry with lots of positive energy. He also appears to be in great health and was able to jump in and out of the car with no issues.
