INTRODUCING... Myranda! A stunning little Brown Tabby female with gorgeous eyes and an extra L.O.N.G. tail!! Her fur coat is silky soft, and those eyes... they have a bit different shape to them; and when we first saw her, we thought she kinda looked like a little bobcat!
Her story... A UNI student was walking across campus in Mid-November - on a cold, wintery night, and this little bundle of fur came bouncing up to her, meowing and wanting her to pick her up! The gal couldn't just leave her there, so she took her back to her dorm to talk with the floor manager and she was told to call the Campus Police as she couldn't keep this kitten in the dorm building. The Campus Police told her to just put the kitten back outside - as there are always cats/kittens running around on campus - but she couldn't bring herself to do that as the kitten was cold and very, very hungry - and was quite thin. She made a post on FB asking for anyone to get in contact with her if they would take her in, and within a couple of hours LHAR had a foster willing to take her in!
She has been living in a foster home in Waterloo with several other kittens and a couple of resident older female cats, and has done very well with them! Their foster mom has a treasure box of toys and she is loving and playful, and she loves to romp and tackle the other kittens! She came down with an upper respiratory illness shortly after arrival; thankfully she wasn't outside on her own at that time as who knows what might have happened to her!
Myranda not been around dogs or kids, but at her young age, with proper introduction and time to get used to the sights, sounds and smells in a new home - she should be just fine! It is always best to adopt kittens in pairs if there are no other pets in the home; her male & female kitty friends in the foster home are Autumn, BamBam, Betty and Barney (all are available for adoption, too!) and altho they are just a bit older, they get along great! "Until there are none, please adopt one; So they aren't blue, why not adopt two? " (author unknown) Last Hope Animal Rescue gives you a $25 discount if you adopt a pair of kittens together, too!
We are guesstimating Myranda's birthday was around 7/22/22 so she is a little older than 5 months as of 1/6/23; she is a little on the small side for her age so she probably won't be a very big cat when full grown. She is completely vetted: she is spayed, has had 3 FVRCP vaccinations and her rabies vaccination; she tested NEG for Feline Leukemia; she's been given dewormer and Revolution - an overall internal/external parasite treatment, and she is microchipped! Our microchips have a free lifetime registration but you'll always want to keep all of your information ... name, address, phone numbers and email address ... current so if your kitty is ever missing, you have a better chance of getting her back home.
Her adoption fee is $ 100, which is a bargain for all the vetting she has had done. She is currently residing in the Waterloo, IA Petsmart Adoption Center and is sharing her space with Autumn; BamBam and Betty are also in the store! You can stop by to see them anytime during normal business hours at 1506 Flammang Drive in the Crossroads Shopping Center area ... Monday-Saturday 9:00-9:00 and from 10:00-7:00 on Sunday; holiday hours will vary.
