Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Let us introduce you to these beautiful bonded boxer/lab mix sisters Comet & Cupid!
A few of our volunteers spent some time with these sweet girls and instantly fell in love with them and their underbites!
Cupid is the one with the more pronounced underbite and is a little shyer than Comet but quickly warms up to you. Comet is the more confident one and Cupid follows her sister’s lead. But both are sweet as pie and are so playful, they had a great time chasing the ball and making those squeaky toys squeak!
We’re so happy to see that living in one small cage together in a horrific hoarding situation, taken to a shelter, and being adopted out twice and returned twice in just a 3 month period has not completely dampened their spirits at all.
These girls are about 2 years old and weigh 50-55 lbs and in good body condition with their shiny black coats with that hint of brown in their undercoat (they were grossly underweight when saved from the hoarding situation as you can only imagine).
We’re looking for a foster-to-adopt home for them but at this point we’re even looking for a foster home, as long as they stay together because they are bonded and have been through too much together to be separated now.
They will need a patient family who will give them the time and space they need to learn to be dogs and provide them basic obedience training as well as house training.
They seem to get along with other dogs and didn’t seem to mind the cats when they were taken into the cat room at the shelter, but might be better to be safe than sorry. Also, we’re not sure how they are around kids so we’d say no kids or older kids who will respect them.
Our coverage area is within 1 hour of Warrington, Bucks County, PA, but since we need to keep them together we may consider a home a little further than our coverage area.
If you have questions about these sisters, you can contact us at info@jaxslabrescue.org but to be considered a possible match for them, our first step is the adoption application which you can find here:
