My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

G’day everyone! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rusty and that may have come about because of my beautiful red coat. Add on my piercing Icelandic blue eyes and you’ve got one handsome pup! Yes indeed, I’m a youngster with a fully charged battery ready to live my best life. I can be a little timid when I first meet you, but I warm up quickly. Right now I am learning the ropes in my foster home; everything is new and sometimes I get a little jumpy with new experiences and noises. My foster home has two other fosters and who knew how fun it could be playing with other dogs and going for walks. It has opened up a whole new world to me.

Since coming into rescue, I have really come out of my shell and discovered that being a dog is a whole lotta fun! Now that I’m around other dogs and people I’m thinking that’s where it’s at folks. I’ve relaxed into my daily routine and truth of the matter, sleeping in the house has become number one on my list. I enjoy my daily walks and I’m learning not to pull on the leash as well as trying to resist going after those tempting squirrels. But, practice makes perfect and everyday I am learning how to slow down and smell the roses. My canine companions are teaching me a thing or two as well – they let me know when my play gets too enthusiastic. I’ve learned to just go take a time out and relax, or maybe throw my toy up in the air for a bit. I take cues from my foster siblings, so having another con?dent canine around would sure help me out. When it comes to the kiddos, I will do ?ne with older children who are respectful and allow for slow introductions. My foster family recently discovered that I love water!

The fact is peeps, I’m a young husky and you know what that means. Yep, I will need an active home that is willing to keep me thoroughly exercised along with some mental stimulation thrown in. With consistency and patience, I will be on my way to being one fine husky pup.
