Dante was found abandoned on a roadway to a rock pit. He sat in the area where his owner had shoved him out of the car, waiting for the moment the person who betrayed him, to come back. We saw him waiting for weeks, his love and loyalty never reward by the person whom he loved, but never allowing another human to approach him. Then we found him unable to get up and not moving when passing vehicles zoomed dangerously close by. As though he realized he could trust the volunteers and that they were going to help him, he finally welcomed the kindness. X-rays thankfully showed there were no broken bones, but he did have a lot bumps, bruising and stiffness, possibly from being hit, which is something that unfortunately isn't that uncommon.
This young dog has already experienced heartbreak of being thrown away by the person he loved; the terror of being abandoned and the fear of being injured. He needs -- deserves, a home where he will know he will always be safe and loved.
A meet and greet would be required for any pets currently in a potential home.
