My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kali, a 7-year-old, 79-pound sweetheart who’s ready to be your loyal companion! This well-mannered beauty is house-trained, knows her basic commands like “sit,” and does great free roaming around the house. Kali loves meeting new people and enjoys the company of other dogs, but slow introductions are recommended. While she adores going on adventures and gets excited when it’s time for a walk, Kali’s playful nature can be a bit clumsy, so she would do best in a home without small pets or young children.

Kali is best described as a laid-back “house hippo” who’s always eager to please and loves quality time with her people. She hasn’t met a stranger and is just as happy to relax at home as she is to explore the outdoors with her favorite humans. Kali would thrive in a home with a yard to play in or with someone who enjoys taking her on fun outings.

If you’re looking for a big, lovable teddy bear who will be your faithful sidekick, come meet Kali today! She’s ready to bring lots of love and joy into her forever home.

I am currently available for adoption, but I`m also in need of a temporary foster home while I wait for my future family. Fostering means providing me with a safe and caring space where I can learn, grow, and share my unique personality while waiting for adoption. The amazing folks at OK Humane will provide all the necessary support, from food and supplies to medical care, while you offer the love, attention, and insights that will help me find the perfect forever family. If you`re not ready to commit to adopting, e-mail foster@okhumane.org about fostering me!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process
We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.

Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.

Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.

Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
