Name, age, type of animal: Hi! I’m Kirby! I am 2.5 years old and a friendly, large rabbit!
Likes: Stop and look at me! I love keeping myself and space clean, you can tell by my pristine white fur. I love my people and enjoy spending time with them, I also like my alone time. I love my food especially when I work for it in my stacking cups, I am pretty smart you know. I enjoy being outside and my toys. I like to groom my stuffed animals and if I really like you, I will give you kisses as well!
Dislikes: slippery floors (hardwood, blankets that slide), being held
What would be the ideal home? Quiet, large free roam carpeted area where I can be part of the action with my people.
Good with other pets? Has been around quiet, small dogs and let them know when she had enough of them and needed some time to sleep. Has not been with another rabbit and would require proper bonding to see. Has not been around cats.
Good with children? She has been around children, she would do well with an older child that understands rabbits and when they need to be left alone.
Temperament: very loving, quiet, laid-back (with typically nighttime zoomies!), curious.
How long will it take to settle into a new environment? Almost immediately with rabbit savvy people! I want on a vacation to another house when my foster mom went away and I didn’t hide and I flopped right away.
What kind of housing are they in? Free roam on several carpets in a large space. Has several covered beds, boxes, and chairs to sit under/in.
Favorite types of fruits/veggies? Romaine lettuce or green leafy lettuce, parsley, cilantro, bell peppers. Banana is her favorite special treat! I throw her food around the carpet for enrichment. She eats vegetables twice a day (~2-4 large pieces of lettuce with pieces of other vegetables that I have for each meal) with ~1/4 cup kibble twice a day and always unlimited hay and water. I would love to explore new foods with in my new home. I do love my salads!
Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? She will only walk on carpet and runners but will slumber on the cool tile floor as long as I have a carpet near by. She benefits from oxbow 100% western timothy hay (no dust and limited calcium content). She loves to play where she can show you she is your boss by growling and lunging playfully. With age, she has developed very good litter box manners, when she went on vacation she had one acci
