Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Buddy and I am a gentleman. I also happen to be a very handsome 1-1/2-year-old Sheltie/Chow Chow mix weighing in at 44 lbs. I was homeless in San Antonio Texas, hanging around the San Juan Mission with all the homeless people but I did not belong to anyone. I spent each day visiting with everyone and slept somewhere nearby at night. I became fond of a man who volunteers at the mission and when a freeze was looming he and his wife brought me home to keep me out of the cold and to foster me for 4 Little Paws Rescue.
I am a very sweet boy, easygoing and gentle. I am friendly with people, and a bit cautious with strangers until we formally meet. I get along great with other dogs and my foster parents have 6 of their own, big and small, and I blend right in with the pack. I don’t initiate play but I’m easily coaxed when a playmate wants me to join in for some fun. I love affection and attention and will follow you everywhere, but I am not clingy. I’m just a sweetheart that loves his people. I am a dog with manners, I do not dig, I don't jump fences, I do not guard my food and I do not chew on things in your home. I am housebroken, don't mind a ride in the car, and LOVE to go for walks. I am very well behaved and my foster mom says I am the sweetest most gentle dog she has ever fostered and she lets me roam free-range in her home without a worry.
UPDATE: I just moved to Connecticut and have already made friends with everyone. You can stop by and meet me in person, but be prepared to fall in love and take me home!
* We receive an overwhelming amount of applications. If we do not respond immediately, it does not mean your application or inquiry is denied. The dog you have applied for may already be adopted or in the process of being adopted. We encourage you to send us an email with your #1, #2, and #3 choice, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! Also, please continue watching our listings as we post new dogs multiple times a week. There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.
