My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Step into the canvas of life and meet our gentle giant, Bob Ross!

At 6 years young and weighing in at a robust 68 pounds, Bob is more than just a pup – he`s a masterpiece waiting to be discovered. Bob is a connoisseur of cuddles, a virtuoso of walks, and a true maestro of companionship. While he may initially greet you with a shy demeanor, a sprinkle of tasty treats is all it takes to coax him into your lap, where he`ll nestle contentedly like a happy little cloud. With a love for leisurely strolls around the block and a penchant for cozying up to his favorite people, Bob is the perfect blend of activity and affection. And let`s not forget his fondness for a plush bed – the perfect spot to dream of endless landscapes and happy little trees.

While Bob shows potential to harmonize with another doggy companion, compatibility is key. He`s seeking a forever home where his canine counterpart is the perfect fit for his gentle spirit. As for his audience, we`re seeking admirers ages 13 years and older to appreciate Bob`s tranquil temperament and give him the love and understanding he deserves.

Are you ready to embrace the joy of companionship with Bob Ross by your side? Come meet this canine masterpiece today and let him paint the colors of love onto the canvas of your life. Adopt Bob Ross, and together, let`s create a masterpiece of happiness and harmony. If Bob Ross sounds like he might be a good fit please stop in at our new shelter to meet him!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
