Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Born approximately 8/8/21 Snickers is a young, Chiweenie who came to us after his owner passed away. Prior to his rescue he escaped the outdoor kennel he had been living in and was attacked by another dog receiving a severe injury to his throat that required immediate vet care.
Snickers, Snicky, Snikster, Snickity Cricket etc. put the wig in wiggly. He gets so excited when you get home that he screams his vocalizations to let you know how happy he is that you’ve returned. He’s the perfect mix of high and low energy, up for just about anything like a long walk but just as happy to stay home and hang out in the back yard or napping.
He’s currently living in a foster home with both large and small dogs as well as cats. He’s been fine with all but occasionally will growl if he thinks they are invading his nap space – he responds well to a firm – no or knock it off.
Snickers tends to gobble his food and if given the opportunity will help himself to the cat’s food. He is crate trained and potty trained, however when he first arrived to live indoors, he would lift his leg to mark areas on occasion. He’s been wearing a belly band most of the time and stands still to put it on and take it off for trips outside. The band is typically dry when he is let outside routinely, indicating the urge/need to mark may be diminishing.
Snickers is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He’s ready for a person or family that will commit to be his happy ever after – he wouldn’t mind being your one and only or to have a canine companion. A secure fenced yard is required and if there are children in the home, over the age of five is preferred.

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.
Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.
