Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sandy is a VERY sweet, petite, and beautiful German Shepherd mix, looking for a FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!
She is approximately 3-years-old, and extremely loving and affectionate. She came to AFLAR when she was found as a stray with a badly injured back leg. She had a break in her tibia that could only be repaired with surgery.
AFLAR sponsored her surgery and she’s healing very nicely.
Sandy will be an active dog once she has healed completely. Now that she is feeling great she loves to run and play!
Sandy loves to play with balls and squeaky toys and give kisses! Sandy is dog friendly and seems neutral about cats.
Her foster mom says that when she is talking on the phone she will walk around squeaking her toy to get her attention. She is a smart and funny girl!
When foster mom is working on the computer Sandy will use her nose to knock mom's hand off the mouse and onto her head. When you pet her she rolls on her back for attention.
Sandy seems a little insecure when left alone, and is looking for a loving home and some guidance and structure to make her feel safe.
Sandy has had some training– she knows sit, stay, bed, and wait, and she lets you know when she needs to go outside. Sandy is crate trained and she sleeps through the night.
Sandy is extremely smart and wants to please you. She also loves treats, so training sessions should be easy and enjoyable. Her favorite foods are peanut butter and bananas together or apart!
Sandy loves EVERYONE she’s met so far and will make a wonderful family dog.
Sandy’s current foster family is going out of town on March 17, so we would love to find Sandy’s forever home, or at least a loving foster home until she is adopted.
If you are looking for a young, fun, loving dog, Sandy is your girl!!!
