There, sleeping on the couch! It’s a bird? It’s a plane? It’s a… polydactyl!
What is a polydactyl? Despite the rumors, it is not a dinosaur. She is in fact, an angel with 24 toes.
This baby girl looks like she is wearing mittens. It’s a by-product of the fact that she has seven toes on each of her front paws. As a kitten she lived in a home, but she ended up an outdoor kitty that missed a soft warm bed! I call her Miss Davie because she was rescued at the behest of a little girl with a similar sounding name. (She has also been called Cupcake by her first family.)
She is silly, sweet, playful and very affectionate; She loves to stand on your shoulders and sniff your socks, but cradle her like a baby and she will melt in your arms!
Miss Davie has a vitamin D deficiency, so she gets a couple drops of (inexpensive) medication in her mouth once per day. I wish I could keep her, but I have two territorial kitties who are not fond of her, despite her sweet demeanor.
Other animals: She doesn’t seem to like them much, but there haven’t been any altercations with mine. She is better with my dogs than cats, but I suspect she would adjust.
She is spayed, and her vaccinations will be up to date with her next shot this month.
