For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Longmire was Born Feb 24 2023 at the rescue. Longmire is a curious, playful, goofy and loving little pup! He is motivated by toys that squeak and peanut butter flavored treats. He has done extremely well being redirected from things he isn’t allowed to chew to things he is allowed. He’s been learning to walk in a leash and does better when he has an experienced dog with him, he very much learns by observing! He is all legs and tail at the moment, which makes him not always the most graceful. He’s been enjoying learning how to swim in these warmer temperatures too!
Even though he is full of puppy energy he can also be quite calm. He enjoys cuddling you as much as possible and very much watches his handler in anticipation of what he’s asked to do next. He’s been very well mannered in the house. He’s been working on potty training and I’ve had very little accidents (the ones he’s had has been my fault), which tells me he’s a smart cookie. He keeps both his indoor and outdoor kennel very clean but does enjoy the occasional dust baths.
He has been exposed to a dog savvy house cat and has learned that he cannot play rough otherwise the claws come out, so he’s been quite respectful of the cats space. He’s a little socially awkward around the full grown dogs but quickly picks up on their body language. His coat pattern is developing into this beautiful shiny black with brindle around his legs and muzzle, no doubt he will be a handsome stunner full grown!
He is a very smart boy despite his overall goofy nature, with the right adopter he will for sure continue to grow into a loving, loyal and well mannered dog. He’s done extremely well with visitors at our home too, very social personality with both humans and other dogs. Longmire is a GSD mix, he is neutered, has all vaccines up to date, and microchipped.
Only folks with an approved application on file can arrange a visit.
