My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We rescued Mama Matua from Avenal Animal Shelter. She was scheduled to be euthanized as the shelter is an overpopulated, rural shelter that completely lacks medical resources. We pulled her right away and were planning to transport her to her foster in San Diego the next day. But within eight hours she gave birth to her babies in her transporter/temporary foster’s bathroom! Once the babies and Mama were stable we headed to San Diego and transported everyone to their wonderful foster home.

The babies were born 2/27/23 and will be officially available for adoption when they are 8 weeks old, but we are accepting applications now. Mama won’t be quite ready to go to her furever home by that time, we will need to make sure she is 100% healthy and spayed of course. But we are accepting applications for her as well, in case anyone is interested and willing to be patient. We believe these puppies are husky/shepherd mixes. Breed experienced homes are preferred. These guys are going to be active adventure buddies! We would love to see them go to homes that like to exercise, know how to care for fluffy coats, and will ultimately set them up for success. And we would love the same for sweet Mama Matua. Matua is an absolute sweetheart and is excited to retire from motherhood forever! And she is being fostered in San Diego
