Meet Summit and Mollie, a dynamic duo looking for their forever home together. These two girls were strays and lived together at a canal for months, including during the torrential December storms.
Their amazing rescuers worked for weeks to get them safe. During this time, Summit was seen watching out for a shy Mollie, even bringing back food for her from the local dumpsters. They were very scared at the shelter and not sure about people, but after a few days in their foster home, they became huge lovebugs.
These two love to play together and nap next to each other. They are very bonded and need to be adopted together. They both take treats very gently. They are easy to walk and don't react to people or dogs passing by - they even ignore squirrels running across their path. They would likely do okay with other dogs and cats with a slow introduction. They hung out with other dogs when they were strays and haven't reacted to their foster family's cats.
Both Summit and Mollie are shy at first, but spray cheese is the key to their hearts. They are mostly house-trained and when they don't get outside in time, they use the backup pee pads set up by their foster family. They are working on basic training such as a recall, sit, and lay down. They're also working on not jumping up and are getting better. They would do best in a home with a yard they can play in.
