Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This sweet flower was given a second chance by a kind rescuer who found her living on the streets. During her time with them, she got comfortable with human company and even made a feline friend! Though quiet at first, Marigold has been blooming at EHS, revealing her soft, sweet side.
This bud enjoys her quiet time, and is often found lounging in her cubby or by the window that is shared on rotation with her new feline roomies. She has been adjusting to being pet by strangers, but prefers the back-scratcher and may need to sniff your hand before allowing you any closer. Marigold is still exploring her boundaries and needs a loving family who will be patient while she adjusts to her environment. After all, flowers need tending when put in new soil! While she mostly enjoys alone time, Marigold has occasional bold spurts where she will ask for more attention and show her relaxed side. Playing with string toys and swatting at brushes have become her favourite sports, and engaging her in play has been a great way to help Marigold flourish. (Treats don`t hurt either!)
Marigold has a soft spot for other feline friends who are willing to entertain her with play. When Marigold was first rescued she enjoyed spending time with her feline roommate and having a familiar friend helped her adjust to her temporary home. This tender-hearted girl needs a peaceful home where she can continue to grow at her own pace, so a quiet home without small children or other pets would be best. With a little time and a lot of love, Marigold will show you the affectionate, gentle cat she truly is.
Marigold is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. She is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people. There have been many successful graduates from this program, but potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Marigold along this journey. It should be noted that while some skittish cats might remain reserved, others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways. A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Marigold with a successful transition to her forever home.
