My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dexter has been through a lot to get to where he is today, being neglected and used as a badger baiting dog (which is why he has so many facial scars) He is an amazing co-pilot, and enjoys car rides. This Irish lurcher is just the sweetest boy who loves people. He is also full of youthful energy and would be great for a family that likes to run and play in the yard. He has found a love for squeaky toys. He would make anyone a great best friend to have by your side. Dexter does well with some dogs but his play style can be a bit much for some.

Dexter would do best in a home with an experienced pet parent and a moderate to highly active family. He would probably not do well as an apartment dog.

* Fast Friends adopts in the New England area. If you are interested in Dexter or one of our other available dogs, please complete an adoption application at www.helpinggreyhounds.org/adopt.

More about this rescue

Fast Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the public about Greyhounds and sighthounds from around the world with the primary goal of finding responsible, loving homes for them. Fast Friends envisions a world where no Greyhound or sighthound lacks for a loving home and these breeds are valued and celebrated for their uniqueness.

Fast Friends works closely with both international and domestic partners to bring retired racing Greyhounds and other sighthounds in need from countries where they have almost no chance of a local adoption to its facility in Swanzey, New Hampshire. Each dog receives high quality care with a focus on one-on-one staff time and individualized plans to help them overcome any neglect or trauma they have experienced so that they can be successful in a home. We are dedicated to taking in dogs with the most challenging circumstances.
