Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brownie is a beautifully marked Chocolate with tan female dog that is estimated to be between 2-3 years old. She was picked up as a stray with another dog (that we believe to be her pup) by the Mason County Kentucky Animal Shelter in early December. She was not claimed, so HART rescued her to get her healthy and a forever home. she is in good health and is ready for his new forever home.
Brownie is a very loving pup. She loves people, she rushers up for licks and pets, each time she comes in thru the doggie door after playing outside. She is great with children, been around several youngsters from 2 through 10 years old and isn't bothered by rough handling of the younger children. We don't know if she is good with cats. She is very good with other dogs, but requires a couple days to get to know the other dogs. After being slowly introduced she has played with a small French Bulldog as well as 5 other dogs that have been in the foster home. She loves sitting on your lap on the couch, although she gets off after about a half hour and lays in her bed or on the couch. It is obvious that he lived in a household before, as he has pretty good manners She is crate trained and robustly house broken, has never had an accident in the house.
Brownie really enjoys just basking in the sun in the yard if not playing with the other dogs. In the house she is content to lay on his pillow or couch, but when I leave the house I do crate her since the other foster, her son, is still a pup. She is generally a very quiet dog, only barks when running the fence line with a barking dog. She is a pretty laid back pup, does well in the car, and sleeps through the night in her crate without a sound. She does not bark to wake you up in the morning even when she hears you are up.
A fenced yard, would be best for Brownie, as she likes being outside. She'd do well with another dog in the house to give him company. If interested in two dogs, you may want to consider her son, Fudge. He is a wonderful match, as they both run, wrestle, and play together. She walks very well on a leash, and doesn't pull. She is still a bit bothered by passing cars but is improving rapidly. She is fine going out in the rain or snow.
Brownie is a medium sized dog, weighs 45.2 pounds and is her adult weight. We'd guess she is a hound mix from her personality but it is impossible to tell. Brownie is a gentle dog and will be a great family dogs. If you are interested in this great dog and would want a meeting with Brownie, please fill out an online adoption application which can be found on our website at www.rescueahart.org. You can also email doghart@gmail.com.
