Horatio is a big (35 pounds) handsome boy! Judging by his size he is probably a Decker. He is about 5 years old and in excellent health. Horatio is good with older children; we haven’t had him around little kids, but he is shy and sweet natured - the only issue might be that he doesn’t quite realize how big he is! He likes other dogs, but becomes over-stimulated by a "pack", so would do better in a home with perhaps one other dog. He’s good with some cats, if they show him who is boss right up front. Horatio is a little shy around strangers, but will warm up to them and allow them to pet him. He loves to play with people and his toys; he has a stuffed tiger that he loves to toss up in the air and chase around the house! Horatio has learned a few tricks and will try to perform all of them at once (before you even ask for a trick) for his favorite treat. His current tricks are always started with "sit", and he will shake when you hold out your right hand (dogs should be proper too). Horatio will lie down if you say "down", and will "speak". He is working on "sit-up’, though this one been tough to learn because of his "crooked nub"; his tail was not cropped well, and looks more like a handle than a tail. Horatio rides well in the car, loves to go for walks and is very good on the leash. He does not get into things that he should not, and has not had any accidents in the house (and he stays in all day while his foster family is at work). He is really a wonderful dog!
