My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lux is a super happy, energetic pup! He loves to play with just about any type of toy and wants nothing more than to spend time with his people. Lux is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He is just about house trained too but may need a little time to get it completely figured out in a new place.

Lux would do best in a home with no other pets and no children as he still has an excess of puppy energy and is working on his manners. Lux has been trained to walk politely on a leash and he can do "sit" like a champ! He is still perfecting a few other commands and working on his impulse control. Lux will come with one free professional training session to teach you what he knows! Lux does sometimes struggle with meeting new people, so introductions should be done slowly, or simply crate him when visitors will be stopping by.

Lux is a regular hiker at the Cincinnati Nature Center. He would make a great companion for someone looking to walk/hike/run regularly - get your exercise in while also practicing Lux's commands and wearing him out!

Additional adoption info

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

More about this rescue

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.

If you need info on a cat or kitten please contact 859-391-2944
