Pancake is a boy rex rabbit born at the rescue on September 6, 2022. His momma (Pandora) was dumped/rescued on September 2, 2022 from a park in Garden Grove known for frequent rabbit dumping. She was huge and we knew delivery was imminent.
Pancake has been at a foster home and is a VERY socialized bunny. He LOVES to snuggle and is anxious for you to pay attention to him! He would make an EXELLENT companion pet for the first-time rabbit owner. He is just the SWEETEST little cuddle bug!
Pancake is a volunteer FAVORITE! Everyone wishes they could take him home! All of his siblings have already been adopted; he's wondering why he hasn't been chosen yet?
He is SUPER EASY to pick up! He doesn't put up a struggle at all or play hard-to-get like some bunnies do! He loves nibbling on pinecones, his wood chew toy and his cardboard toys. You'll often find him lounging in his tunnel or under his hidey house.
He CRAVES to be where you are: on the couch, on the bed, on a chair! It doesn't matter where, just as long as he can see you or be near you. But, if you need to him relax in designated area, he's a perfectly good boy about that too!
Rex rabbits are known to be less allergenic than other rabbits because of their specific type of fur which feels like velvet! If you've never felt the luxurious coat of a rex rabbit, you're in for a treat!
Pancake has a mild form of megacolon which is not particularly concerning but should be noted. His poops can appear a bit more elongated and egg shaped.
Pancake should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. He can have that as his home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it.

Pancake can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore.
PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you’ve never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies!
