Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Tessa is a 5-year-old mixed breed dog. Possible breeds include Golden Retriever, Husky, Great Pyrenees. Tessa is spayed, house trained, microchipped andcurrent on vaccinations. She knows basic obedience commands like come, sit, down and stay.
Tessa is a smart girl who listens and learns when given direction. She absolutely loves her walks on a harness. She does not resource guard anything, she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. Tessa would love to be useful and carry some water and a couple of light snacks in her pack while hiking with her family. She benefits from getting lots of exercise. Tessa is looking for a family with dog experience who can give her the time, routine, and training she needs to reach her potential.
Tessa lived with a small dog for years but hasn’t lived with other dogs lately. She does well with slow introductions to new dogs. Tessa developed some anxiety and is taking one anti-anxiety medication. Once Tessa is adopted and given proper exercise and guidance, the goal is to reduce and eliminate this medication.
Expect Tessa to let dogs and people know she is in your home, she believes it is her job. She can be redirected with a food treat. Although controllable, she might continue to alert bark. She does not seem interested in retrieving. She might enjoy learning to use her sense of smell to build her confidence.
Tessa reserves the bulk of her affection for people who are closest to her, she is curious of strangers and friendly. Given clear direction, enough exercise and calm leadership by her people she will become a sweet, attentive member of your family. Expect her to let dogs and people know she is around, while enjoying all the comforts and fun your home provides.
