My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny is sweet and adorable and looking for a great forever home!

My foster mom gave me the name Penny because she says I'm shiny like a penny. Penny is the first name I have ever had. I grew up as a breeder dog living in a horse stall in a barn delivering puppies every Heat. My foster mom tells me I am smart and brave. I was the first one to learn my name and quickly learned what affection was. And I love it! In my new life I have also learned how to be a 21-in 16 lb lap dog. I have been working on my indoor potty pad skills and my leash walking skills. My foster mom takes me walking at the mall and to stores to practice leash walking. I'm still a little timid but I'm learning that I am very social and enjoy meeting new people. I have a sweet personality and my tail is always wagging. My playful side is starting to come out. You know when I want your attention when I do something silly like grab a washcloth out of the laundry basket or steal your sock for you to come chase me with my tail wagging the whole time and I let you catch me. I'm looking for a forever home that has a lot of affection and patience for a sweet girl like me who can offer the same. A forever home that doesn't mind that I will follow them around, will always be laying near you and will be at the door to greet you when you return home. I especially enjoy laying next to you on the couch or on your lap as we cuddle. If you're looking for a companion look no further! It's me, Penny!

Penny was rescued after she was discarded from an Amish puppy mill after she was no longer useful to produce puppies. She is learning to live in a home and be leash and house-trained, so she will need a dog lover who is patient. Another calm socialized dog in the home would be best.

She is about 6 years old, 10 lbs, spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative.
