Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Loki is a gorgeous 2-year-old, 65 lb, purebred Australian Shepherd with a fluffy tail. He found himself returned to the shelter after 2 months because he was herding and nipping the heels of the children in the home. Therefore, we feel that Loki will do best in a home without children. In his short life, Loki has lived in 4 different homes, including his foster home in Virginia Beach, VA. Will you be Loki's furever home?
We don't know Loki's past prior to the shelter, but we do know that Loki has been to obedience training. He knows sit, stay, down, high five and cookie. He also rings a bell to go potty outside. He is a very smart, affectionate boy who loves cuddles, tearing up squeaky toys and playing fetch. We were told that he was in a home with cats in the past and did well, but we have not personally tested him with cats.
He is a medium energy, HIGH velcro dog. Although Loki listens well, we are still working on leash manners and not jumping when greeting friends and family. He does well home alone and is not destructive nor does he need to be crated. Loki is neutered and up to date on his vaccines.
Loki would do best in a home as the only dog due to his dominant nature or with a submissive female. (Multiple meet & greets will be needed with another dog.) He loves to be the center of attention with his human! Loki is a teenager and as such may test his boundaries so 1 on 1 attention is a must for this boy. Loki will thrive in a home where he can continue his training and be loved!
Loki's wish list:
A home to call his own or potentially with a submissive female.
A fenced yard to play fetch for hours.
No children, although older teens may be okay.
An owner who can continue his training and give him lots of attention.
A comfy couch, dog bed and an owner who loves to snuggle.
