Janni von Jengen is a gorgeous 18 month old Shepherd mix with the most adorable ears. Beautiful Janni has blossomed her loving, sweet, expressive and fun nature has come out. She is medium-sized and medium-energy, though she has been known to celebrate coming home from an outing with the zoomies. She would be happiest living in a home with a yard. Also great in the car and great with the mobile groomer. She gets along with dogs of all sizes when the dog walkers take her on her daily hikes. She also seems fine with small children, and is very good about meeting new people when introduced properly. Janni is a very tidy dog (drinks and eats daintily) and takes her treats very carefully. She is so quiet, only barking once or twice to call attention when someone is at the door. She is housebroken and always asks by pawing gently when she needs to go out. However, no cats for Janni please. She is great on leash and obviously has had some training. She also absolutely loves belly rubs and being petted, and most of all, she is a wonderful companion. Janni also loves to snuggle up at night right next to you. She would be perfect for someone who works from home as she loves to be with her person. Amazing Janni awaits her forever home!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
