Osborn is approx 5 years old and 17.5 lbs...he is 65% Shitz tzu, 13 % Lhasa apso and .2% Pekinese per a Dna test we did on him,, he was very matted when we rescued him and had to be shaved down, his coat is growing back and he is going to be a beautiful boy, he did test positive for heart worms and has been treated with the required shots and we usually find that the dogs test negative in 4-6 months..we also started him on a monthly heart worm preventative, he has limited vision in one eye and is on daily eye drops, but otherwise has no issues seeing or getting around. he is a quiet little boy, except when you leave and then he does have some separation anxiety and will bark for 5-10 mins and then settle down, so we feel he would not be good for an apt, and will do better with an older person that is home a lot and can give him lots of attention, he tends to keep to himself and even though he gets along with the other dogs he really doesn't interact with them unless they get in his face and then he is not a happy boy ! he seems to be pretty well house trained , but does not like being restrained per the vet and does better in a harness instead of a leash..he is a sweet boy and is going to be a great companion for someone

OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years.

WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF VET RECORDS ON YOUR CURRENT OR PAST DOG FOR OUR REVIEW. RECORDS MUST SHOW THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER AS THE OWNER

The total adoption fee of $600 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper ,canine influenza, and microchip. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at
