Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Born October 30, 2022 Red Rover is a young red heeler with neurological issues. Our vet suspects a mild form of Cerebellar Hypoplasia. Cerebellar hypoplasia is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum—the part of the brain that coordinates movement—is smaller than usual or not completely developed. For Red Rover, this looks like small steps when walking, a lack of confidence when moving, and he absolutely HATES being picked up. Red Rover will need another confident, friendly dog in his forever home to boost his confidence and show him the ropes in life. He currently lives with dogs of all sizes and cats. Red prefers the company of other dogs to his human family members, but he is a friendly little guy. Despite the extra pep in his step, Red is a smart boy who learns routines quickly. He is not your typical, active heeler and would not succeed as a working dog. He loves to chew on bones (or anything he can get his little teeth around), wrestle with his dog friends, and lay around the house. If you are looking to open your home to a special needs dog, Red Rover may just be your guy. If you have another friendly, confident dog, a fenced yard, and older children who can respect Red’s special needs, submit an adoption application at www.mikeyschance.com.

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.
Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.
