Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chango is approximately 5 years old. He is a big boy and a slow mover. Chango loves to be around people and always wants to be close. He loves to be petted more than anything. Chango is fully potty trained, he gives paw and knows the command to sit. Chango is a good boy and loves to hang out with his current foster sister. However, we have found that although Chango gets along with other dogs he MUST be given adequate time to acclimate to them. Chango needs a very slow introduction to a new fur friend. He requires time to get used to them before becoming accepting of them. It will be imperative to his success that the new family understand this. We believe the best family will be a savvy dog owner who is willing to give him the time he needs. Chango should never be put in a situation where he is integrated with another dog without the slow introduction. Another thing to know about Chango is that he is not tolerant of other dogs in his space while eating. We recommend he is separated during mealtimes. Chango has sensitive skin and is on a prescription food. Chango has what his foster family calls a cinnamon bun tail. He has lots of areas on that tail that flare up and need to be watched and cared for. He was tested for autoimmune causes of the skin flares and thankfully that came back showing he did not have any underlying issues causing these skin outbreaks. The skin is doing well but will need to be watched and kept clean and dry. He is maintained with medicated shampoo on the tail area. His tail area should be looked at daily to identify when the skin flares and addressed as soon as possible so that it does not get out of hand. Chango’s ears were in rough shape when he came into rescue, and we suggest a good cleaning at minimal 2x weekly. As with all bulldogs he will need his face folds cleaned regularly.
