Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Freddy was adopted and returned to ASF within 24 hours of his adoption through no fault of his own. He is again in search of his furever home. Freddy is a 1 year old Aussie with a very unique, striking look! He is a very lovable, sweet and curious boy. Freddy is a serial licker. He loves to give kisses all day! He is looking for a family with a yard for him to run and bark at birds and squirrels. Freddy doesn’t care about tossing a ball around, he just wants to be with you. He is a total Velcro dog in true shepherd fashion.
Freddy has been an amazing companion to his brother Teddy. He’s been great with his foster family’s 2 dogs. He is great with children but would do best with older children over 8 due to his strength.
He is very interested in his foster's chickens and horses, too much for his foster mom’s comfort. He may not be suitable for a home with small pets, no cats or cage dwelling pets. Freddy is crate trained and lets you know when it’s time to go outside first thing in the morning, He is fully house trained. He is extremely smart and would benefit from professional training.
Freddy has a conditional called Hypotrichosis which just means his body doesn’t grow a lot of hair follicles. He needs weekly baths and moisturizing, which he is very good for! Foster mom uses good baby shampoo and coconut oil. Foster mom watches how much sun he gets, and makes sure to feed quality food with salmon oil treats. He needs a jacket on cold days, but not always. One perk to less hair, less shedding!
He is up to date on all vaccines, and is neutered.
Freddy does not travel well in a car, often becoming car sick after short trips. For this reason, Freddy needs to stay fairly local. A potential adopter willing to drive him in short intervals, over a 2-4 hour drive, understanding his sensitivities, might be considered.
If you woule like to make this very special boy part of your family, please fill out the appliction: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application
