My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

I am very active and playful, especially with my almost identical twin, Robbie. We have never been separated and hope to spend long happy lives together.
I would like to meet you and show you just how smart and loving I am. Do you have shoes? I love shoes and think they are the windows to a human’s soul. Thank you for letting me tell you about myself-it’s my favorite subject. We would like Robbie and Bennie to find a home together but will consider splitting them up.
To adopt Bennie apply here and mention his name on your application.

Additional adoption info

In addition to adoptions to the public, we also work with local, approved, reputable rescues to place dogs and cats rescued from high-kill shelters.

More about this rescue

KMR Inc. was founded in 2010 by Susanne Hoshino in order to rescue homeless animals from high-kill environments. We assess, vet, adopt out, and/or transport to our Rescue Partners and provide outreach/education for pet retention and animal welfare.
Our core mission at Kindness Matters Rescue is to place adoptable homeless animals into loving forever homes and to promote responsible companion animal welfare through support, outreach, and education.
Kindness Matters was born in 2010 after a visit to a local animal control facility made Susi aware of the magnitude of the homeless animal problem. KMR is committed to lowering the staggering euthanasia rate and rescue as many wonderful adoptable pets as possible. We work constantly to build a magic net of rescue relationships throughout the Eastern Shore and the United States in order to rescue the most animals possible from these facilities.
Kindness Matters Rescue became a 501 c3 Charity in the beginning of 2019. We are very proud of the fact that we have rescued over 1,700 animals in our nine-year history.
