Meet Blake, the resilient 4-year-old Terrier mix with a heart of gold! This 60-pound ball of love came to us as an injured stray over a year ago, and now he`s ready to find his forever home. Blake is a personable and affectionate pup who will undoubtedly steal your heart. His absolute favorite thing in the world? His beloved ball! Blake is a fetch enthusiast, ready to play for as long as you`ll indulge him. Not only is he a pro at fetching, but he`s also quite content entertaining himself with his toys.
Blake prefers one-on-one time and would need a slow introduction to other dogs to see if they`d be a good fit and he may prefer to be the only furry friend in his forever home. Blake`s zest for life makes him a perfect companion for an active household. If you have children, Blake may be the furry friend they`ve been dreaming of, as he shows potential to live with kiddos ages 10-13 and older.
Check out the video of Blake enjoying a new toy! His fun and adventurous spirit are just a few of the reasons he is a volunteer favorite.
If Blake looks like the perfect dog for you, give us a call at 330-487-0333 ext. 226 to learn more about him and schedule a time to come in and meet!

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.
We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.
Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter
Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
