Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gus fast facts:
+ Available for adoption in Orange County ONLY
+ Needs a home with a second dog
+ Saved from the Riverside Shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia for being scared
+ Estimated to be around 11 months old
+ 9lbs, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations
+ Not 100% sure of his breed (guessing chi/papillon/spaniel mix)
+ LOVES to be with his people
+ Very smart/eager to please
+ He is a puppy and acts like it (he does like to chew on things that he probably shouldn't chew on)
+ 75% potty trained
+ He is working on overcoming separation anxiety and is doing GREAT with his training, but will need a home that is willing to keep working with him
+ Would likely do ok with calm children
Gus is as sweet as they come. His absolute favorite thing is to either be cuddled up sleeping next to you or playing with a toy next to you. He is a peppy, spunky little guy who would love a home where he can just be with his people all the time.
He walks well on a leash and enjoys sitting in your lap during car rides. He is great in his crate if you are in the room with him and is slowly but surely gaining the confidence to stay by himself when crated.
Gus seems very smart and eager to please. He can be a bit shy at first, but give him two minutes and he'll warm right up and start asking you to be held.
Yes, he's a very cute puppy, but he does need a home that will be committed to his training/continuing to work through his separation anxiety and understands some of the challenges that come with a puppy. We want to be totally transparent about those things since our goal is to make sure we put him in a home where it's going to be a great fit all the way around.
Whoever decides to make this guy part of their family and put in some effort with him is going to be rewarded with one of the most loving, sweet little dogs ever.
