My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luca was abandoned and living in a school yard dumpster in Brooklyn. He is about two years old. Luca has a curious nature when it comes to other felines and often seeks them out for companionship. He is extremely attached to his buddy Fortune and follows him everywhere. He loves to play with other cats, and even tolerates the presence of dogs. He is cautious around people when he first meets them, but with time, treats and following the social cues of his brother from another mother Fortune, he will be putty in your hands in no time. Once he is comfortable he will be seeking out affection and will even roll over for belly rubs and give you kisses! Luca is neutered, tested for all parasites, negative for both FELV/FIV, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Please consider Luca (and his brother Fortune), they both have so much love to give!

Additional adoption info

After an application is submitted, the applicant is run through the NYS Animal Abuse Registry, references including vet are checked and a home visit is required. There is also an adoption fee.

Go meet their pets

We hold our bi-monthly adoption events at Pets Supplies Plus located at 74-17 Grand Avenue, Maspeth, NY 11378 . There is free parking and it is close to many subway and bus lines.
Our events are usually held from 1-5:30.

More about this rescue

Timber's Legacy is an all volunteer 501c3 based in Glendale, Queens NY that is trying to help decrease the number of homeless cats and the euthanasia rate in our nation through rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming.
As members in excellent standing with NYC's Animal Care and Control's New Hope Program, many of our cats come from their "At Risk" list. We also rescue friendly strays and sometimes owner surrenders. About 25% of our cats are special needs.
All of our cats receive the very best of veterinary care.
