My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**This dog is in boarding in Saint Catherine. Apply to adopt at lastminutedogrescue.com

Kenji is a sweet, intelligent dog who would love to be your new best friend! This charming boy likes to spend time with his people, and he loves going for walks and learning new things. Kenji has a lot of energy, and would do well with an active family who would love to have a buddy for their adventures! Kenji requires someone who will be patient with him as he adjusts to his new home and family. He needs a bit of time and space to warm up to new people, but when he does hell be your best friend.

Kenji has some fear based reactivity challenges that he is working through. He is muzzle trained and fully comfortable wearing a muzzle while out for walks and in public spaces. He is making great progress with his training and his comfort level around unfamiliar people and new experiences, but requires someone who will maintain that structure with him.

Kenji would do best in a home without children or any other pets. Kenji does prefer women over men, but with time and slow introductions he does warm up to men. Kenji needs someone who will continue his training so that he can work through his anxiety around new people. He is a very smart boy who loves learning new tricks and practicing them with his people, he would love to be your new adventure buddy!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

People can submit an adoption application

2.

Interview

First we do reference checks, THEN we do a full 1 to 1.5 hr interview with the applicant

3.

Home Check

Home checks used to be done in person but lately we do a zoom walk through of the home, checking especially the backyard and crate set up

4.

Meet the Pet

If the dog is here in Canada they can do a meet and greet to finalize that they are in fact who they say they are and a good match

5.

Approve Application

we would send an email approving the adopter (or declining if they aren't approved)

6.

Sign Adoption Contract

We would send the adoption contract which they would fill out and send back.

7.

Pay Fee

They would transfer the adoption fee to cover transport costs and vetting of the dog. Then they would come pick up the dog from the foster.

Additional adoption info

No other additional information. Some of our dogs are adopted as soon as they come up on a "foster-to-adopt" trial period to ensure the perfect match.
