Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I love being active and outdoors, whether that is hiking, canoeing, or just splashing around in the river. Lately I've been really into chasing sticks in the yard. After exercise I love to snuggle up and watch tv or listen to music. I am an anxious and reactive dog, but I'm working on it. I know the commands sit, wait, lay down, come, and I recently learned look and touch.
Penny is 2.5 years old, mixed breed with some cattle dog, and 40 lbs. She was adopted in August 2020 at 6 wks old after her mother was hit by a car. She was separated too early from her litter, and growing up during social distancing made it difficult to socialize. She has a large pack of favorite people and dogs who she loves to play and snuggle with, but she is fearful of and reactive to new people and animals. Once you're in the pack though, you're in for life.
Penny has been evaluated by the UC Davis Veterinary Behavior Service for her anxiety and reactivity, and is working on a behavior modification plan.
