Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oka, a loving and playful shelter dog from Guam! Oka is a mixed breed with soft brown and white fur, big brown eyes, and a wagging tail that never stops. While Oka can be shy when you first meet her, she is one of the sweetest and most affectionate dogs you'll ever get to know.
Oka's name comes from a beautiful beach in Guam, which is where she was found along with her mom and six other puppies after they were abandoned. Fortunately, they were rescued by a local organization, and Oka has been in their care ever since.
Despite the tough start to her life, Oka is a happy and playful dog who loves to play with toys and other dogs. She's always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war, and she'll happily run around and chase after anything that moves. But as much as she loves to play, she's an even bigger cuddle bug. Oka just wants to snuggle up with her human friends as much as possible.
What sets Oka apart is how well trained she is. She has already mastered basic obedience commands such as "sit," "stay," and "come," and is eager to learn more. She is also fully house-trained and crate-trained, which means she'll be a breeze to have in any household.
Oka's journey to Hanover County, Virginia was made possible by the amazing fundraising efforts of her rescue organization. They raised enough money to get Oka a flight from Guam to Virginia, which was a huge accomplishment.
Currently, Oka is living with a foster family in Hanover County and has been doing wonderfully in their care. Her foster family reports that she's a joy to have around and always eager to please.
All Oka really wants is a loving forever home where she can give and receive lots of love and attention. With patience and kindness, Oka will quickly come out of her shell and become a loyal companion for life. If you're looking for a furry friend who will bring endless joy and affection to your life, Oka is the perfect dog for you!
